Problems with SVCD or maybe it`s Nero ? Please advise me

    Hi

    1st a cheers cms.... for his/her response , but i still need

to fix the problem as follows

i use TMPG to encode to mpg , then i burn

    in Nero @ 8x`s(V. 5.5.5.7.8 , for some reason

i have no other options in Nero for a lower

write speed. i use XP pro as my O/s)

When i play back on my home DVD unit( a Sony

    DVP S 7000) , the audio has drop out`s , @ 5 seconds

& over , randomly throughout the movie. This gets very

    frustrating

The lower quality filx donot have this problem , i use

    TMPGenc 2.54xxxx & version 2.51xxx

On my PC these flix don`t seem to have this problem ,

though i haven`t viewed an entire flick on my PC .

Plz someone tell me how i can fix this . i feel it may be the

high write speed in Nero , which i have no control of. The

options below 8x`s are no longer available

Is ther another good proggie to burn VCD`s ? i tried Fireburner

    (2.17) , & it kept crashing ?

Easy CD Creator Platinum is another software. Perhaps, you may want to downsample your audio (Setarip mentioned how to do this, search the forum).

downsampling an audio stream isnt that much of a secret

open your wave/mp3 and look for something like: change frequency (thats how wavelab calls the routine)

go for 44100hz and save the file afterwards

ASTT: UncasMS & tnx to others

          Hi

So from your advice it seems i need to

open the movie in V dub , & save audio as a wave ?

& then change frequency as you suggested ?

The frequency is already what you suggested

so why would i change it ??????

The audio doesn`t skip on my pc when played

i narrow the problem down to TMPG`s method

of converting to Mpg , or nero , because it burns too fast ??

Nero will not let me turn write speed below 8 x

The only time i get this audio drop out problem is with

          conveerted/burned SVCD`s

Is there any more advice to give a frustrasted bastard

          Cheers

First of all your pc is much more forgiving when it comes to svcd specs. It will play most video and audio bitrates with jumping, BUT your standalone is much more picky. That's why it works on the computer but not the player.

Try another burning program that allows you to lower the write speed. Some people have problems burning at 8x.

First downsample. Are you (Fogoftheworld) literally a bastard? or is that just an expression?

                Att: Mac Sidewinder & Batman

                Hi

The Fog of the World is a Death in June reference

one of my fave`s.... Are you British Batman? No one

else has ever picked up on that expression.

i think i have a real problem here.. No proggie

of a few , will write below 8x . That option flies the coop

as soon as i go to write(VCD etc.. ) & won`t come back

for any other write (Nero 5578 Easy Cd etc....)

My writer is an LG GCE 8240B . i use XP pro as well

i did today , write a very successful SVCD to a VCD in

Nero @ 8x`s......Not sure why this worked.... The only

difference was i checked error correction in Audio in

TMPGenc when converting the SVCD... Could this be

                the difference????? Seems unlikely???????

Any more suggestions , on how & wot to use to solve this

speed problem etc.... would be appreciated

                Cheers -

I think you just solved your problem Sometimes, there are 'bizzare' solutions, to weird problems

"Hi The Fog of the World is a Death in June reference

No, I am not British, got family there though. What is the "Fog of the World", and this "Death in June reference"? sounds interesting!

                    Hi

Yes it is odd , but it must have worked......

                    Thus far..............

                    fanx for the reply

Death in June are an amazing band.........

i would term them as Apocalyptic death folk...

                    But to each his own........

They were The first British act to perform in Croatia following the

outbreak of Yugoslavia's civil war . in their music you`ll find

influences of traditional European folk music......

Fog of the world is one track from Brown book

Here are a few links if you want to see more...
